Plot Summary

The gang is back for another adventure, this time searching for lost treasure. Mitch Robbins and his friends discover a treasure map belonging to the deceased trail-biker Curly, which promises to lead them to his hidden gold. Their quest takes them back to the Wild West, facing new challenges and rediscovering their friendships along the way.

Critical Reception

The sequel to the popular 'City Slickers' received a largely negative reception from critics, who found it to be a less inspired and more formulaic retread of the original. While some appreciated the return of the main cast and Jack Palance's cameo, many felt the humor fell flat and the plot lacked originality.

What Reviewers Say

  • A less humorous and more derivative sequel that relies too heavily on the original's success.

  • The plot feels contrived, and the comedic beats often miss their mark.

  • While the cast returns, their chemistry isn't enough to salvage a weak script.

Google audience: Audience reviews indicate that while some viewers enjoyed the return of their favorite characters and the continued adventures, many found the sequel disappointing and not as funny as the first film. The treasure hunt plot was seen as predictable by some.

Fun Fact

Jack Palance, who played the iconic Curly in the first film, reprises his role in dream sequences and flashbacks, despite his character's death.
