Creature

A U.S. military research team on a remote island in the South China Sea is tasked with investigating a distress signal from a Soviet space station. Upon arrival, they discover the station is derelict and find a deadly, shapeshifting alien organism that has escaped from a containment unit. The creature begins to hunt the crew, forcing them to fight for survival against a foe that can mimic any life form it touches.

Creature received overwhelmingly negative reviews from critics and is widely considered one of the worst films of 1998. Critics lambasted its derivative plot, poor special effects, nonsensical dialogue, and reliance on B-movie tropes.
